HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
A year ago I began sending out this free monthly email newsletter to keep family, friends, and customers informed about what’s new in my professional life. Little did I know how this communication would affect my life.
Because of my newsletters I’ve met many wonderful people who have become customers then friends. I continue to be amazed at the power of technology to keep us all connected, and marvel at the talent of my computer whiz, Marta Olson of Mintaka Design, who puts this all together. |
UPCOMING EVENTS
November is full of fun events to prepare us for the Christmas entertaining and gift giving season. Last year I attended the Christmas Gift Expo at St. Anthony’s Church in Mackinaw City as a customer and had a great time going from booth to booth sampling food, buying craft items, and seeing new products available from vendors.
This year I will be found on the other side of the table as I sell my artwork at the Expo on Saturday, November 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. My books, cards, matted and framed prints, glassware, mugs, and pillows will be offered for sale, as well as some surprises (they’re surprises because I haven’t quite figured out what I’ll be taking to the Expo yet!). If you’re in the area that day, stop by to see me, register for a door prize, eat lunch, and have fun as you begin your holiday shopping! |

TRIP TO ITALY
I fed my soul for two weeks last month—so many memories! Painting in the hills of Tuscany was magical: olive groves, cobblestones, vineyards, burnt sienna rooftops—everything I’ve seen in postcards was there just begging to be painted.
The tiny paint kit I showed you last month was just right for travel. Along with the six watercolor paintings I created in my sketchbook I also wrote a journal of my daily adventures. Now as I recover from jet lag (which is a VERY real ailment!) I’m reminded of how important it is to recharge my batteries occasionally.
You may order cards and matted prints of my paintings of Italy on my website. Visit my new Travels Gallery.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH
My quote for this month though is a reminder to me about ordinary days when I’m just doing the usual things: “There is no such thing in anyone’s life as an unimportant day.”—Alexander Woollcott, American theater critic
Make the most of each of YOUR days! |

GIFT GIVING
Are you looking for a special gift to give this Christmas? MACKINAC ISLAND MEDITATIONS is a 32-page hardcover book of inspirational thoughts accompanied by my watercolor illustrations of Mackinac Island scenes. It might be just what you’re looking for, and you can find it on my website: www.maryloupeters.com. Along with my book I offer note cards and matted prints that would make perfect gifts. Take a look!
PAUSE FOR THANKS
In this season of Thanksgiving, I’d like to give thanks for all of my family, friends old and new, and my customers. My business is steadily growing due to readers like you who support me in so many ways. I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
