VALENTINES AND WINTER NOTE CARDS
Snow is here to stay for a while, so why not send your handwritten thank you notes or birthday greetings on my four cute snowman cards? And plan ahead now to send a unique valentine to someone special—four designs available. See more valentines and snowmen on my website at WHAT’S NEW? and GALLERIES/HOLIDAYS & SEASONS.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION
What is it about a new year that makes us want to get organized? It’s a phrase that’s been on my list of resolutions for as long as I can remember. I get things cleared out, the area stays organized for a while, then POOF! It’s gone. Undone. It all boils down to this: too much stuff! So this year I’m going to recall the advice of Rob, my most organized friend, who taught me to take small steps to de-clutter and finally get to the bottom of my tough spots: art supplies, yarn stash, and bookshelves.
THE JOY OF COOKING
Those of you who knew me way-back-when remember that the kitchen in my house was just for looks. Oh yes, I put a meal on the table every night, but only because it was required. I didn’t enjoy cooking and avoided the kitchen at every opportunity. But now that we’ve gone from three channels on rabbit ears to a full spectrum of entertainment on DISH, Food Network is one of my favorites. It’s inspired me to try new recipes and add some vegetables and food-related still life scenes to my kitchen décor and to my website.
See WHAT’S NEW? and GALLERIES/FOLK ART. These prints dress up your kitchen lined up between a row of cabinets and a countertop, or choose your favorite veggies and make a framed collage!

FEED YOUR SOUL
On a snowy Sunday last month, my daughter and I fed our souls by making our way through five beautifully decorated houses on the Topinabee Holiday Home Tour. What fun to hear about the traditions of these families and view their lovely homes. Next year, feed YOUR soul by attending a local holiday home tour!

CURRENT PROJECTS
I’m working on the preliminary sketches for a commissioned house portrait. The owner and I are incorporating many family memories into the painting: flowers, brick work, and even landscaping.
It’s a challenge to add these things to the painting, but they will make the house portrait even more meaningful to the recipient. If you would like me to paint a housescape or gardenscape for you or to give away as a special gift, please contact me for more information.
